brought out the old tap shoes and dusted them off

so i was listening to otis redding "try a little tenderness" and towards the end the song just got me going. i was straight in the middle of working and couldnt resist. i just kept visualized a tap dance to it. so i got up and dug around for my tap shoes, pulled them out and started the magic...

while tap; the traditional tap dancing i was taught is a little more extensive, technical and usually has more sounds at a faster pace, this song didnt inspire me to "technically tap" ie - bust out all the "fancy and speedy moves i know" lol. instead it inspire me to feel and groove to the music.

tap is still beautiful with simple moves. it can be classic and also unrefined.

i just whipped this piece up real quick and had kendrix film it for me. you can see i am not showing near as much passion as i felt while first doing/experiencing it in my living room a couple hours before hand(nor am i doing it full out).the sound and music sucks but i still wanted to share the fact to always try something you are feeling at that very moment.

especially as an artist. explore more. it may or may not be your next master piece. and thats okay. dont let pressure of each and every piece be that. let the art and creativity ooze out and you will learn from each experience because you were supposed to. it was in you and you had enough sense to follow through and let that artistic energy pour out. even if it was only for a mere moment. i know many writers do this. just jotting down words or phrases. same thing here :)

just that experience alone, brought me to a whole nother level as an artist.

thank you feet. thank you MS Kay! thank you otis, thank you mom and dad for giving me all the opportunities i have been able to learn from dance.

i am SO VERY GRATEFUL

Healthy Albacore Tuna Spring Salad Recipe

Something reminded me the other day of tuna fish sandwiches. I used to LOVE them. I used to eat them all the time. This made me crave some tuna. I don't regularly eat bread so I decided to create a healthy salad.

And to give credit where should be given, I give that credit to a friend of mines mother who is from Lebanon and I never did truly love tuna fish sandwiches until I had one she made. The secret ingredient is green apple slices! Brilliant. Now I always add some sort of apple ingredient to my tuna salad mixes. Thanks Lola!

Below is the recipe for Healthy Albacore Tuna Spring Salad

Ingredients:

- 1 can of wild albacore tuna (I used Wild Planet no salt added from wholefoods)
- Tahini
- asian pear
- red onion
- spring mix salad
- walnuts
- kalamata olives
- avocado
- olive oil

Directions:

In a bowl, dump the tuna in and smash it up. Add the Tahini sauce in (just about the same amount you would add mayo)and mix that up well. Then dice the red onions, the asian pear and kalamata olives add to the mix. On a plate or bowl lay the spring mix and then add the tuna mix on top. Top it off with walnuts and lightly drizzle olive oil. Presto! Done! and SOOOO GOOD!

Enjoy!

Dance choreography for Kendrix

here is a quick dance piece i choreographed for kendrix. song is "a change gonna come" by same cooke and it happens to be one of my favorite songs of all time.

i try and film all of the pieces i do so that if i ever want to add on i will remember.

kendrix said he doesnt like this one too much, but then again, he said that about the last one we did and ended up loving it. patience kendrix, patience :)

oh! kendrix said i needed to blog about the bees disappearing and how important that is especially for someone like me that has mostly and plant and fruit based diet. kendrix says hes going to start his on bee hive and thinks everyone else should too! i would listen to him, hes a smart guy.
